Dhoni to attend Chinar Cricket Premier League final on Nov 26 in Kashmir | KNO

Former Indian Cricket team captain M S Dhoni will attend the final of Chinar Cricket Premier League as a chief guest in Kashmir valley on November 26. Dhoni, who holds an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel, paid a surprise visit to Army Public School (APS) on Thursday in summer capital, Srinagar, much to the delight to students and teachers who shook hands and took selfies with him. Grand finale of Chinar Cricket Premier League 2017 will be played out between the teams of North and South Kashmir comprising of the best players from the two regions on November 26, 2017 at Kunzer Cricket Ground in Budgam. “The Championship saw an overwhelming response this year with a total of 110 teams participating in it,” he said. He said the match on Sunday assumes great significance due to the presence of former Indian Cricket team Captain and current player Lt Col Dhoni at the venue as Chief Guest. “The event will provide the youth of Kashmir a great opportunity to interact with the cricketing legend and derive inspiration to make it big in this sport for themselves,” he added. Though the visit of Dhoni was kept secret, the Chinar Corps put out a photograph of the former Indian Captain with students on its Twitter handle late on Wednesday evening. Dhoni, who holds an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel, visited the school located inside the Chinar Corps headquarters in the Badamibagh Cantonment in a low key and unannounced event on Wednesday.
